Can You Compost Paper and Compostable goods?
Lately there has been a lot of discussion about what exactly is compostable in Colorado. Most companies are changing their policies. However, we are sticking with ALL compostable waste. We can take paper waste, and BPI certified compostable goods like compostable trays, cutlery, plates, cups, and K-cups.
Why is this? We do not bring our compostable waste to A1 Organics, like 99% of the other compost haulers. We haul to GFL's facility in Bennett Colorado. It is much smaller, and doesn't deal with the volume of contamination that A1 is facing. So keep composting with us, and we can take all your items. We do have 1 request from GFL - could you please start shredding your cardboard? Otherwise, it doesn't break down as quickly as the other items, gets sifted out, and sent to the landfill. |

Wompost is a Proud Member of Zero Food Print
We contribute 1% of our new revenue to Carbon Farming Projects here in Colorado. Right now, those funds go to McCauley Family Farm in Longmont. With the funds, they will purchase and apply compost to 20 acres pf degraded range land and plant perennials. This will pull bad carbon from our atmosphere and turn it to good carbon in their soil.
